Consultation Services
CASRA can assist organizations and individuals to:

Successfully integrate consumers and family members into their workforce

Create career pathways for PSR professionals

Train the workforce in the Fundamentals of PSR and Recovery-Oriented Practice

Develop a local cadre of PSR competent trainers and educators

 

CPRP NOTE:

Staff who successfully complete 45 hours of training meet the education and training requirements for the national PSR practitioner credential.


CASRA has a cadre of consultants available to help you develop plans for workforce development, design educational curricula and assist in the training and integration of consumers and family members in the mental health workforce.




A 5-Course Curriculum in PSR
The five courses are designed as a resource for in-service training or as part of an academic program offered through local community colleges. The course titles are: Introduction to PSR, The Helping Relationship, Rehabilitation and Recovery, Community Integration and Fieldwork Seminar.

Train the Trainer (2 days)
CASRA's train-the-trainer course is designed to support the development of a local cadre of PSR competent trainers and educators. The program features state-of-the-art technology and teaching techniques.

Introduction to Psychosocial Rehabilitation: The Fundamentals (30 hours)
This program provides an orientation to the values and principles of culture-centered, recovery-oriented practice. The format is highly engaging and utilizes a variety of teaching techniques. Topics include; a culture-centered approach to recovery; understanding the concept of recovery; barriers, stigma and discrimination; values and principles; recovery-supporting relationships; and recovery-oriented systems.

PSR Principles in Practice (30 hours)
This program introduces the foundation skills of PSR practice. Topics include: self-awareness and communication skills; engagement and person-centered planning; PSR assessment; PSR interventions; community resources and advocacy.

Consumers as Providers: Realizing the Possibilities
CASRA's Consumer Employment: Readiness ASsessment and Planning Guide can help you identify and address the myriad of issues that are important to ensure success. Consultation can be available at no cost through the CA Department of Mental Health.


CASRA staff provide unlimited telephone and 4-hours of on-site consultation to member agencies as a benefit of membership.

Consultation to non-members is available on a sliding-scale fee basis. Services are provided by CASRA staff and by staff of member organizations and affiliated consultants.
