This training will teach front-line providers skill sets and tips drawn from Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care and Harm Reduction designed to establish rapport and a compassionate connection.  Whenever the pandemic ends, it's clear that telehealth will continue to be an important tool in the provider' tool-kit. What lessons have been learned during these challenging times? Will the virus inspire us?

To enhance and develop provider’s telehealth competencies in effectively engaging their consumers in the recovery process.

  1. Trainees will identify at least 3 strategies to establish empathic engagement with consumers
  2. Trainees will give examples of 2 methods for modeling and teaching self-care to consumers
  3. Trainees will discuss 3 methods for expanding consumer’s natural supports.
